KUKENBERGER-NIOVICH - Irene P., 95, Altoona, formerly of Windber; died March 29, 2020, at UPMC Altoona. Born July 26, 1924, in Windber, daughter of Andrew and Julia (Tomari) Kovach.
Preceded in death by parents; husband, Victor Kukenberger, who died December 27, 1969; beloved grandsons, Robbie and Buddy Kukenberger; sisters, Julie Nagy, Margaret Nagy, Hazel Spak, Helen Stiffler, and Ann Toth; brothers, Andy, Steve, and Valentine; and sons-in-law, Gary Zonfrilli and Donnie Hoffman.
Survived by children, Carol Ann Chilcot and friend Jim Kaufman, Altoona; Victor Kukenberger, married to Diane (Beaner), Geistown; Bonnie Blair, and friend Mike Turiano, Altoona; Roe Zonfrilli, Kentucky; Debbie Hoffman, Windber; and John Kukenberger, Butler; fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and four great great-grandchildren.
Irene had a passion and newfound love of the Lord, thanks to the support of dear friends Pastor Rob and Denise Davis. Her love of flowers and her gentle spirit will be remembered among family and friends. Honoring her wishes services will be private.
