Helen L. Pastovic

July 6, 1925 — September 3, 2022

PASTOVIC – Helen L., 97, Ebensburg, died September 3, 2022. Born July 6, 1925, in Wilmore daughter of Nickolas and Catherine (Seno) Pasiowyz. Helen was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Mary and twin sister Pearl Pastovic, Ann Hendrickson, and Nellie Fetsko; and brothers, Harry, Metro, Charles, John, and Nick.

She is survived by special niece, Joni, wife of Robert Tickerhoof Jr; their four children, Nickole, Marlena, Veronica, and Robert James, and their families; and numerous other beloved nieces and nephews.

Helen was a graduate of Wilmore High School, class of 1946. In 1951 she moved to Manhattan and worked as a secretary in the international headquarters of the whiskey distiller, Seagram’s. She made New York City her home until age 90. She was well read with a lifelong interest in learning, but her true wealth was in the many close friendships she cultivated and maintained. Helen was very spirited, loved to joke with people and had a positive outlook on life. She loved to dance to Big band music, window shop in Manhattan, and discuss current events especially politics with Joni and Tick. "Aunt Helen" was a second mother to Joni and will be forever loved and missed.

Honoring her wishes, there will be no public viewing.

Nurtured and loved in these Pennsylvania hills, she will be laid to rest alongside her parents, siblings, and family in a private committal service.

In lieu of donations, buy a friend a cocktail and toast Helen to celebrate the amazing life of this incredible woman.
