Grace Marie Goughnour

GOUGHNOUR – Grace Marie, 74, Mineral Point, passed away October 5, 2020, at Hershey Medical Center. Born August 10, 1946, in Johnstown, daughter of Samuel M. and Lena G. (Mazzarese) Speranza.

Preceded in death by parents; husband, Sanford C. “Pete” Goughnour, who died December 25, 1996; and daughter, Michele McNulty.

Survived by daughter, Regina M. McNulty, wife of Jack A. Weber, Ashburn, Virginia; son, Peter C. Goughnour, married to Doa Gu, Suwon, South Korea; grandchildren, Hailey Goughnour and Conor and Ciaran Morris; sisters, Kathleen, wife of Ernest Sanchez, Johnstown; and Sandra Parks, Johnstown; brothers, Samuel C., married to Rebecca (Weaver), Davidsville; and Catino and Geno Speranza, both of Johnstown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Grace was a graduate of Bishop McCort High School, class of 1965. She found peace and comfort in the beauty of God’s creation; watching hummingbirds flutter, deer prance, and all manner of wildlife scurry about her yard. She was also an avid TV buff who enjoyed classic movies, tv game shows, and captivating horror films. But what she cherished most was spending time with her beloved family and friends.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, 1421 Clapboard Run Road, Johnstown; the Reverend Michael Christine presiding.

Interment, Richland Cemetery.

Always thinking of others, her final act of love was participating as a tissue donor with the Gift of Life Donor Program.
