OSHABEN – Frank Robert “Bob,” 85, St. Michael, died March 21, 2016, at home. Born Sept. 28, 1930, in St. Michael, son of Anthony and Frances (Kocjancic) Oshaben. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Josephine J. (Luberto) Oshaben, who died Aug. 28, 1991; son, Alan; infant sister, Frances; sisters, Dorothy Walker and Faye Hribar; and brother, Edward. Survived by children, Mary Jo, wife of Craig Kraber, Arlington, Va.; Leonard, Crown Point, Ind.; Robert, married to Joan (Olszewski), Summerhill; Barry, and friend, Roxanne, Arlington, Va.; and Bernard, married to Janine Korenoski, King’s Ferry, N.Y.; daughter-in-law, Debra Oshaben, Lebanon; grandchildren, Alexandra, Joanna, Jamie, Kaylyn, Sandra, Robert and Kira; sisters, Mary Sivec, South Fork, and Josephine Danel, St. Michael; and numerous nieces and nephews. Frank was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Member of St. Michael Catholic Church, St. Michael, where he served as an usher. Member of Adams Township Volunteer Fire Company 2 and the American Legion Post 551, St. Michael. He was well read with a lifelong interest in learning. He enjoyed attending festivals and listening to polka music by the Johnstown Area Button Box Club. As an avid sports fan he was a regular at Forest Hills wrestling matches and football games. He spent countless hours working past sundown on his farm and always enjoyed visiting with other local farmers. He shared many adventures with friends on hunting trips out west, but he most loved spending time with his family and supporting his beloved grandchildren at their many events. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m.. Wednesday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home Inc., South Fork, where a vigil will be held Wednesday. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Father Joseph Nale. Committal, St. Michael Catholic Cemetery, St. Michael. Military graveside service by St. Michael American Legion Post 551. The family wishes to express a special thanks to the Forest Hills Area Ambulance Association for their kindness and care.
