Evelyn J. Miller

MILLER – Evelyn J., “Chappie,” 82, Summerhill, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home, December 16, 2019. Born March 20, 1937, in Beaverdale, daughter of the Reverend J. H. and Leona (Plummer) Chappell.

Preceded in death by parents; husband, Hershel “Gene” Miller, who died October 26, 1988; daughters, Susan Dennison and Cheryl Gore; grandsons, David J. III and Jesse H. Klock; and brother, Donald Chappell.

Survived by son, Eugene, “Buster,” married to Kelly M. (McConeghy), Lilly; and daughter, Lisa, wife of Joseph Lubniewski, Summerhill; grandchildren, Jessica, Sunshine, Tyara, Bradley and Montana; seven great-grandchildren; sons-in-law, Michael Gore, Portage; and Derald Dennison, New Florence; siblings, Dorothy Hughes, Osterburg; Lloyd Chappell, Florida; Carol Weyandt, Claysburg; Dean Chappell, Osterburg; and Linda Weyandt, Osterburg.

Evelyn was a devout Christian and member of Wesleyan Holiness Church, Portage. She was a talented seamstress and retired from Bestform. Her baked goods were always delicious, she was an avid reader, enjoyed tending to her flower garden, and loved spending time with family.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at noon Thursday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, the Reverend Randy L. Neville presiding.

Private interment, Dunmyer Cemetery.
