Eva Jane Chappell

CHAPPELL – Eva Jane, 92, formerly of Windber, died January 12, 2022, at Meadow View Nursing Center. Born February 14, 1929, in South Fork, daughter of John and Alverta (Fyock) Susko. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Firman T. Chappell, who died January 24, 2003; son Terry; grandson, Christopher; sisters, Catherine LeJune and Anna Mae Berkebile; brothers, Edward A. and Darl G.; and daughter-in-law, Patricia (Caddy) Chappell.

Survived by daughters, Linda, wife of David Berkey, Cairnbrook; and Ruthann, wife of Harvey “Gene” Helman, Windber; seven beloved grandchildren, numerous adored great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; and brother, John Susko, North Carolina.

Eva was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, South Fork. She retired from True Form sewing factory in Windber. She was a talented seamstress, enjoyed working on puzzles, and browsing for bargains at yard sales. Her kind and loving spirit will be remembered by all who knew her.

Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, pastor Dawn Davis, presiding.
