Etheleen Brewer

BREWER – Etheleen, 101, Portage, died June 2, 2021, at Maple Winds Care Center. Born November 21, 1919, in Johnstown, daughter of Louis G. Sr. and Elizabeth (Partsch) Harteis.

Preceded in death by parents; husband, Emerson Brewer, who died November 22, 2005; daughter, Carol Kawchak, step-daughters, Valerie Sliko, Michelle Croyle, and Sharon Penatzer; great-grandsons, CJ Barefoot and Alex Kawchak; sisters, Ruth Vickers, Mary Koach, and Betty Martin; and brothers, Louis, Edward, and Donald Harteis.

Survived by son, Robert, married to Edna (McIntyre), South Fork; and daughter, Ruth, wife of Robert Lutz, Portage; 8 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; brother, Paul; sisters, Helen Bowman and Evelyn James; and sister-in-law, Doris Harteis, all of Johnstown.

Etheleen was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Portage. She worked as a clerk for the former Glosser Brothers Department Store. Above all, she cherished spending time with family. Her caring spirit leaves a lasting legacy of love to all who were blessed to know her.

Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday June 3, 2021 at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday June 4, 2021 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Father Thomas Stabile, T.O.R., Celebrant.
