MAYES - Elaine J., 51, Ehrenfeld, died December 18, 2017, at Windber Hospice. Born November 14, 1966, in Johnstown, daughter of George and Connie (Ruffing) Coutts. Preceded in death by mother; son, Bradley Scott Mayes, infant-granddaughter, Jade Renee; and father-in-law, Lester E. Mayes.
Survived by father, Shippensburg; loving husband, David A. Mayes Sr., Ehrenfeld; son, USMC Sgt. David A. Jr., married to Caroline (Muscardelli), Lebanon, Tennessee; beloved grandchildren, Isabella, Vincint, Sophia and Ariana; goddaughter, Cori Headrick; brothers, George, married to Hope (Yuzwa), Carlisle; and Ron, St. Michael; mother-in-law, Barb Hoffman, St. Michael; niece, Morgan; nephews, Nathan and Hunter; and numerous other beloved family and friends.
Elaine was a graduate of Forest Hills High School, class of 1984 and earned her associates degree from Cambria Rowe Business College. Former general manager for Pilot Flying J. She was studying to be an EMT and served as a fire police officer with Summerhill Township Volunteer Fire Co., Station 80, Beaverdale. Her gentle spirit and compassionate nature will be forever remembered by all who loved her.
