Don Nadonley

NADONLEY - Clemens D. “Don,” 90, South Fork, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2022, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born June 12, 1931, in Windber, son of the late Clemens J. and Mary (Wozny) Nadonley. Preceded in death by parents; son, Leonard T; grandson, Dennis Mathieson; daughter-in-law, Lori; and brother, Leonard W.

Survived by wife of 68 years, Bernice Ann (Szwast) Nadonley; children, Donald, Mark (Nancy), Donna Mathieson (Denny), and Arnie (Bonnie); grandchildren, Brooke, Scott, Tiffany, Crystal, Allison, Rylan, Christina, Jesse, and Anthony; ten great-grandchildren; and godchildren, Loretta Smakula and Edwin Bowser.

Don was a graduate of Richland High School, class of 1949. He worked as a department manager at the former Richland A&P Supermarket for over 33 years and later Giant Eagle. He was a devoted member of Saint Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church and its successor Most Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, South Fork; where he served on the parish council and as alter server into his mid- 70’s before Alzheimer’s impacted his life. Don was also a lifetime member of the Cambria Beagle Club where “Noodles” served as President and held other offices for many years.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Father Joseph C. Nale, celebrant.
