KEIPER – Carolyn A. (Reid), 72, Sidman, died Dec. 12, 2015, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born Dec. 15, 1942, in Wilmington, Del., daughter of the late Douglas C. and Marguerite P. (Logan) Reid. Survived by loving husband of 50 years, Gary R. Keiper, whom she married July 31, 1965. She is sadly missed by her children and their spouses, Christie, wife of John Coffman, Seneca; Kelly, wife of Simon Bickerton, Waiheke Island, New Zealand; and Greg, married to Megan (Leone), Baltimore, Md.; beloved grandchildren, whom she adored, Braeden and Kate Bickerton, and Caroline Keiper; sister, Fran Passerello, Houghton, Mich.; brother, Robert Reid, Tampa, Fla.; and numerous other cherished family and friends. Carolyn was a 1964 graduate of Syracuse University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing, and was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. She began her nursing career at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, continuing until she stopped to raise her family. She restarted her career as a registered nurse as her children grew older and continued until her retirement, as a registered nurse assessment coordinator at Fair Acres Geriatric Center, Lima. Her work was a source of her personal fulfillment. The many patients she deeply cared for will always be part of her legacy. She had a compassionate understanding for others and a generous personality that inspired a sense of hope and love. She was known for her beautiful needlework and cross stitching. She enjoyed reading a good book, solving crossword puzzles, cooking delicious meals for family and friends and loved to travel. Friends will be received from noon until time of memorial service at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015, at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home Inc., South Fork, the Rev. Jon C. Gulnac, officiating.
