Betty M. Lester

November 12, 1936 - December 7, 2020

LESTER – Bertha M., “Betty,” 84, South Fork, went to be with the Lord December 7, 2020, at Cambria Care Center, Ebensburg. Born November 12, 1936, in South Fork, daughter of John Roscoe and Stella G. (Varner) Gramling. Preceded in death by parents; infant sister, Lois; sister, Shirley Myers; and brothers, John and Raymond. Survived by loving husband of 66 years, Donald W. Lester Sr., whom she married October 29, 1954; children, Terri, wife of Rick Lewis, South Fork; Donald Jr., at home; Daniel, married to Karen (Miller), Mount Hope; Penny, wife of Brad Langworthy, Johnstown; and Susan, wife of James Sandoval, Cover Hill; former daughter-in-law, Arlene (Ickes) Lester, Sidman; and nine beloved grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Betty was a 1954 graduate of South Fork Croyle High School. She was a member of Locust Church of the Brethren, South Fork Volunteer Fire Company Women’s Auxiliary, and served on the Board of Elections for many years. She worked for Valko’s Store in South Fork and at the Rose of Sharon Home in St. Michael. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, the Reverend Jim Gay presiding. Interment, Mount Hope Cemetery.
