Esther "Sis" C. Davis

Esther C. "Sis", 90, Richland, formerly of St. Michael, died July 26, 2017, at Arbutus Park Manor. Born December 18, 1926, in Becceria, daughter of Paul W. and Alice (Johnson) Heverly.

Preceded in death by parents; husband of 70 years, Richard R. Davis Sr., whom she married July 26, 1947, and who died December 1, 2011; son Richard R. Davis Jr.; and brothers, Jack and Ronald.

Survived by granddaughter, Jane Davis; daughter-in-law, Susan (Berman) Davis, both of Boston, Massachusetts; and sisters-in-law, Edith Heverly, Johnstown; and Agnes Heverly, Philadelphia.

Sis was a graduate of Adams High School, Class of 1944. She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Sidman and retired from the personnel office at the Ebensburg State School. Member of St. Michael American Legion Post 551, Ladies Auxiliary. For over 30 years she organized and hosted charter bus trips. She was an avid Steelers fan and enjoyed reading, quilting and playing cards.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc., South Fork.

There will be no viewing at the church prior to the funeral service which will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, the Rev. Walter Startzel presiding.

Interment, Grandview Cemetery.
